200th Employee Pamela Wright was Joined by Flight Operations’ First Employees in a Nod to the Marine Corps Birthday Cake Cutting Tradition Where the Eldest Marine Passes a Piece of Cake to the Youngest

Solana Beach, CA, May 1, 2019 —On March1 the Flight Operations division of AEVEX Aerospace, a full-spectrum airborne intelligence solutions company, welcomed their 200th employee with an action packed adventure to help commemorate the milestone. Inspired by the Marine Corps cake cutting tradition where the oldest marine passes a piece of cake to the youngest as a symbol of passing knowledge and tradition, Pamela Wright, Acquisition Program Management Support Senior, was joined by Flight Operations’ longest tenured employees Brian Blakney and Sam Stiers for a spin around the track at Speed Vegas in Las Vegas. The team challenged Pamela to push the pedal to the metal and shoot for 200 mph in honor of being the 200th Flight Operations employee!

“At AEVEX, our mission is to be the trusted leader in full-spectrum intelligence solutions. To achieve this mission, we are very diligent and thoughtful about who we hire,” said Jeremy Watrous, Vice President & General Manager, AEVEX Flight Operations. “As we continue to grow, it is extremely important to me that we don’t lose the tradition and knowledge that got us to where we are today. We strive to create an environment where our employees can push their limits at work, and have a chance to do the same outside of the office. Hiring the 200th employee in Flight Operations is a sign of our rapid growth and we are happy to celebrate this milestone with Pamela in an equally exciting and fast paced way!”

AEVEX Aerospace uses rigorous hiring processes to retain a team of experienced, dedicated aerospace and intelligence professionals. The company is committed to excellence, and the ability to thrive in dynamic environments is key to their success.

“I am excited to be part of the Flight Operations team at AEVEX and being recognized as the 200th employee just adds a bit more to this excitement,” said Pamela. “Driving a race car at 200 mph is something I never would have thought to try, and sharing this experience with my new colleagues just made it that much better. Everything I have experienced so far at AEVEX makes we know I made the right choice to join this incredible team.”
