Last weekend, a forward-deployed AEVEX Aerospace team member took part in a humanitarian mission to support an orphanage in Niger. After loading six vehicles full of volunteers, supplies and limitless compassion, the group headed to the outskirts of the nation’s capital, Niamey. This poverty-stricken area, where buildings are often constructed of blankets and thatch, is in desperate need of vital resources, particularly for children.

The volunteers handed out a variety of critical supplies including water, rice, flour, batteries for solar panels, and hygiene products.  The team also contributed soccer balls, books, snacks, and toys for the kids, often donated from their own personal care packages to the 50-plus children in the area.  The reception was overwhelming and the volunteers were deeply moved by the joy of the children singing and dancing in appreciation. “I was humbled to have the opportunity to help this community and proud to represent AEVEX’s core value of Service.” said the AEVEX team member.

AEVEX is committed to continuing this vital local support in Niger and elsewhere as they execute their Department of Defense missions around the globe.
